I'm glad you liked the video. I can't watch it without bawling like a baby. She was one of those special dogs that once somebody met her they picked up on. As if she was an "old soul" or something. I'm glad Lady was at least able to live out her finale years with some dignity and peace with you!
I may wind up having to see if Dixie's owner will let me take her. I wanted Max to have a little more time alone before finding him another companion but he enjoys Dixie's visits. She gets a little rough sometimes but he loves it when she nibbles his neck like she is chewing fleas. Typical male. I'm not sure if she is abused but I know she is neglected. When she is scratching at my door at 10:00pm means he doesn't have a clue where she is. She is thin as a rail. Not quite to the point of bones showing but close. And she acts like she is always starving so I'm always giving her something to eat. I hate having to put her out and forcing her to go home but she's not mine, Yet! Thanks for the link, that is a good site. You should check out this video, http://www.lifewithdogs.tv/2010/06/just-a-dog/, My wife is always ripping my heart out with all of these types of sites but the video "Just A Dog" is excellent and to the point.
