He found out medicare would only pay for a two week stay. He had to file for medicaid for her. To qualify he had to get their assets down to a certain level before they would take her. In the mean time he used the savings to pay for her care and that was going quick when he had to pay $8,000/mon
Do not believe just because you will have medicare you won't need medicaid.
